Teaching

Throughout my career—including my PhD at the University of Copenhagen and my lecturer role at Kiel University—I have taught a broad range of courses, including Introductory Economics, Microeconomics, Econometrics, Public Economics, Experimental Economics, and Economics and Ethics. My experience spans lectures, tutorials, and research seminars at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, delivered in both English and German.

While academia does not always prioritize teaching efforts, I am intrinsically motivated to create engaging, accessible learning experiences for my students. I place a strong emphasis on critical thinking, encouraging students to question, analyze, and verify research rigorously. At the Master’s level, I focus on fostering independence through the analysis of primary sources, applied data work, and replication exercises. For Bachelor’s courses, I avoid traditional lecture formats in favor of interactive environments that stimulate active participation through audience questions and tutorials. Even in large lectures with hundreds of students, I’ve been recognized for making learning interactive, engaging, and thought-provoking.
